The community of White Oak, North Carolina, is mourning the profound loss of Carl Yonge, a man whose life was defined by service, entrepreneurship, and a deep commitment to his neighbors. Carl passed away after a sudden and brief battle with cancer, gaining what his loved ones call “ultimate healing.”

Carl was widely known for his true servant’s heart, a quality that shone through in every facet of his life. He was a dedicated firefighter, currently serving on the Board of Directors for Tar Heel Fire/Rescue Inc. His bravery and commitment to protecting others made him a respected and cherished member of both his White Oak Fire family and his extended Tar Heel Fire/Rescue Inc. family. He answered the call whenever and wherever help was needed.

Beyond the firehouse, Carl was a pillar of the local business community. He applied the same work ethic and dedication to his professional endeavors as he did to his service. He was a dealer at Longhorn Steel Structures, the owner of C & C Portable Buildings in White Oak, and an authorized dealer for Old Hickory Buildings & Sheds. Through these roles, he helped build and strengthen the very community he served, providing quality structures and reliable service to his customers.

Carl Yonge’s legacy is one of unwavering dedication. He built structures with his hands and safeguarded lives with his courage. His sudden passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by his family, his fellow firefighters, his business associates, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered not just for what he did, but for the character with which he did it—always helping, always building, and always serving. He will be deeply missed.
