Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night in the Northeast patrol division, leaving a man dead in his vehicle.
Around 8:50 PM, officers responded to a shooting scene at the intersection of Laura Koppe and Hirsch Road. There, they found a man, believed to be in his mid-30s, inside a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to initial witness accounts and investigators, the victim was sitting in his car when a possible SUV pulled up nearby. An individual allegedly exited that vehicle armed with a rifle and fired numerous shots into the victim’s car.
The Houston Fire Department rushed the victim to a local hospital, but he was later pronounced deceased. His identity has not yet been publicly released pending notification of family.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Unit personnel remained on the scene late into the night, meticulously processing evidence and canvassing the area for clues. The investigation is active and ongoing as detectives work to piece together the circumstances that led to the violent attack.
